Any festival that has anything to do with flowers or decoration always finds favor with me.

Today is Vishu the new year for people from Kerala. The day starts with Vishukanni , the belief being that start the new year seeing prosperity so that the year that follows showers prosperity on you. What i love about it is decorating the vishu kanni .I did not have all the traditional ingredients since I do not stay in Kerala yet tried to do the best with what is locally available.Here are a few photographs of this years Vishu Kanni :

                   a baby snake found its way into the water tank, had to be tricked into coiling round a pole and was taken out and put across the compound wall

Cows grazing just outside the compound wall drives zephyr mad ,as he  cannot see them but can smell them and hear the twigs break under their weight as they wander around !
